A design challenge given to me as a part of the interview process in joining Six & Flow team.

The Brief
Six & Flow Gallery is an art gallery based in London. They want to start a collectibles store for high-end items such as KAWS collectibles, Giclee Prints, and Supreme items.
They want this to facilitate sales but if possible have a social element where people can connect with one another and increase cross community engagement with SAF Gallery building its brand in the process.
Challenges
-
To design an easy-to-use website where ease to purchase is key, combined with conversational capabilities and personalisations.
-
To present the whole design process and the final outcome to the senior team members at Six & Flow within the time given - 3 days.
My Roles
UX/UI Designer.

Further improvement
1. Ideation
The brief and persona were given by Six & Flow and they're reflected on the presentation slides below.

After studying and understanding the persona, we summarised his pain points and unmet needs, then created an empathy map.

Based on the empathy map, we came out with a problem statement to guide us through the process.
How might we make it possible for Colin to acquire an exclusive asset at its best price but still within his budget so he can generate profit in a manner that reaffirms his cultural credibility?
From this problem statement, we started the ideation process through sketches and continued with creating a design concept.

2. Interaction Design
Given the very short time to work on the brief, we decided to only create the core user flow - which is to acquire an item from the site.
What makes this different from the usual e-commerce site are first, users will be given the option to share their current purchases on social or messaging platforms of their choice; second, the ability to consult and to get advice from an expert before purchasing an item.
We believe these two features are something the persona is looking for.

We then created low fidelity wireframes of the main pages.

3. User Interface Design
Once the low-fidelity wireframes were completed, we moved on to visual design. Because there wasn't a brand guideline given on the brief, we created a new face for Six & Flow Gallery in this stage by giving it a brand new logo, identity, and colours.
There are a few keywords we came out with for the brand personality:
luxurious - exclusive - attractive - prestigious - trustworthy

4. Iteration & Improvement
If we were given more time to develop the design further, these are the ideas we would add:

Reflection
On my other projects, I normally created the persona and this was the first time I was given a persona to work with as a base of the brief. I had a great time studying the persona so I could have a better understanding of the needs and solve the problem he had. I would love to come out with more interesting ideas for this design challenge if I was given more time to finish it.
